Pea Metal | Garnet

Base Layer Media: Improves flow distribution and prevents material migration.

In multi-layer sand filters pea metal serves as the bottom layer, providing structural support and improving flow distribution. It ensures even water flow throughout the system and prevents the migration of finer particles into the drainage system during filtration or backwashing. Note: Garnet is approximately 25% heavier than Pea Metal and has the ability to maintain performance under higher-than-normal pressure conditions.

  • FS0 Coarse Filter Sand
FS0 Coarse Filter Sand (3–5 mm, 99.1% Silica)

FS0 is naturally occurring Filter Sand / Pea Metal ideal for a range of filtration applications. Composed primarily of silica, it is durable, chemical stability.

  • PM0 Coarse Drainage Rock
    PM0 Drainage Rock (20–60 mm, 75% Silica)

PM0 is a dark black-grey, smooth, elongated stone with rounded edges, naturally shaped over thousands of years in New Zealand. This material is commonly used as a support layer in multi-layer rapid filters for water treatment.

  • PM1 Coarse Drainage Rock
PM1 Coarse Pea Metal (10-20 mm, 75% Silica)

PM1 is a dark black-grey, smooth, elongated stone with rounded edges, naturally shaped over thousands of years in New Zealand. This material is commonly used as a support layer in multi-layer rapid filters for water treatment.
    PM1
  • PM2 Medium Pea Metal
PM2 Medium Pea Metal (5–10 mm, 75% Silica)

PM2 is a dark black-grey, smooth, elongated stone with rounded edges, naturally shaped over thousands of years in New Zealand. This material is commonly used as a support layer in multi-layer rapid filters for water treatment.

  • G12 Garnet
    G12 Fine Garnet (1.2-2.4 mm, 98% Garnet)

Garnet is 25% heavier than Pea Metal. Our garnet is a natural almandite garnet known for its natural hardness, durability and abrasion resistance. A natural, chemically inert mineral, free of toxic metals, used as a support layer for granular filter media used in water treatment. There are four sizes of Garnet available.
